About Ian Smith

Ian is a born-and-raised New Yorker with a passion for helping people uncover the best answer to their real estate question by using local knowledge, market data, and tech solutions. His experience in real estate spanning from representing buyers, sellers, renters, landlords, and more, and Charney’s background and years of combined experience in Residential, Commercial, Investment, and Development make Ian an asset. Ian works in residential and commercial sales and leasing, and spearheads the use of tech solutions to streamline operations and deliver unique metric reporting that help clients make informed decisions. He is currently working on the marketing and lease-up of Gowanus Wharf, a premier residential campus in Brooklyn

He is also a trained actor, with a degree from the reputable Theatre Arts Department at Ithaca College, and comes from a family of musicians, performers, and arts enthusiasts. He's a lover of all things New York, art, music, theatre, New York, film, food, and... New York. Ian grew up and currently lives in Hudson Heights, and can be found most weekends trying to fill the Absolute Bagels sized hole in his heart (R.I.P. the best bagel shop in NYC, no doubt).
